QUEENS, N.Y. – The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) track and field team made a strong showing at the 2025 Pratt Invitational, held on Saturday, April 5 at Queens College. Highlighting the day was sophomore standout
Kimiko Quayle, who captured first place in the 1500-meter run, crossing the finish line in a blazing 4:50.81 — breaking the previous meet record set in 2024.
In the women's 100-meter dash,
Taiwo Adekunle led the FIT sprint squad with a time of 14.12, placing 6th overall in a competitive field. Teammates
Emma Anderson and
Angela Moskvich followed close behind, finishing in 15.42 and 15.59, respectively.
On the hurdles, Anderson and Moskvich returned for the 100-meter hurdles, recording times of 20.05 and 20.62. In the field events, Adekunle added to her all-around performance with a 7.97-meter mark in the shot put, placing 7th overall.
In the 400-meter dash,
Gabriela Medrano represented FIT with a time of 1:19.96 in her season debut.
On the men's side,
Kaelem Christopher clocked an impressive 11.96 in the 100-meter dash, finishing third in his heat.
FIT will return to competition next weekend at the Wilton Wright Outdoor Invitational.
