SUNY ANNOUNCEMENT
ALBANY, N.Y. – The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) proudly announces that Kimiko Quayle has been named the 2024-25 SUNY NJCAA Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year, capping off an extraordinary collegiate career that has set a new standard for excellence at FIT and across the SUNY system.
This prestigious honor is awarded annually to just one female student-athlete competing at the NJCAA level within SUNY who best exemplifies academic success, athletic achievement, and overall impact.
Quayle, a Fashion Business Management major with a 3.92 GPA, wrapped up her career as one of the NJCAA's most dominant middle-distance runners. She is a two-time NJCAA Division III National Champion in the 1500m (2024, 2025), a two-time First Team All-American, and a two-time NJCAA Northeast District Female Track Athlete of the Year. Her all-around excellence also earned her recognition as the 2024-25 FIT Student-Athlete of the Year and the SUNYÂ Women's Outdoor Track & Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year earlier this spring.
The SUNY Scholar-Athlete Awards honor student-athletes across the SUNY system who display exceptional academic performance, athletic accomplishment, and leadership. Quayle's unwavering commitment to both her sport and studies makes her a true role model and one of the most decorated student-athletes in FIT history.
