ALBANY, N.Y. – The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) proudly announces that Kimiko Quayle, a member of the track and field team, has earned the prestigious SUNY Scholar-Athlete of the Year award. This award highlights her exceptional achievements both on the track and in the classroom.
The SUNY Scholar-Athlete Awards recognize student-athletes from SUNY colleges and universities that sponsor intercollegiate athletics at the four- and two-year levels. Honorees are nominated and selected by representatives of their respective institutions based on cumulative grade point average, athletic and academic honors, and both current and career statistics.
Quayle, a Fashion Business Management major, holds an impressive 3.92 GPA while excelling as one of the top middle-distance runners in the NJCAA. She is a two-time NJCAA Division III National Champion in the 1500m (2024, 2025), a two-time First Team All-American, and was named the NJCAA Northeast District Female Track Athlete of the Year in both seasons. Her all-around excellence also earned her the distinction of 2024-25 FIT Student-Athlete of the Year.
Quayle is one of four FIT Tigers to earn SUNY Scholar Athlete of the Year recognition, joining Olivia Corabi (cross country), Nico Korten (swimming) and Isabel Marshall (swimming).
