(Garden City, NY) The FIT Tigers played their first match outdoor match of the year; taking on Nassau CC. It was a hard fought battle as Nassau CC was last year's regional and national champion. The tigers made their way to Eisenhower Park that was in great shape due to the amazing weather that day.
The spirits were high that day as the match got going.
Veteran player Casey Trotta said before the match, "Even though we are down players and have to forfeit a few matches we are still ready to go out there and give it our all." Everyone worked to the best of their abilities but the Tigers fell short, losing to Nassau 9-0. Both the Tigers and Coach Lynn Cabot are hopeful for a better result against Ulster County Community College on Saturday, April 11th.
"We take this match today as a learning experience, I know I have a wonderful group of players that have the heart and determination to overcome any situation. Our goal remains the regional tournament at the end of April." Said Coach Cabot-Puro about how her team played today.
