Friday, April 28th:
Earlier today, Men's Tennis team member Joey McBride was crowned 1st singles Region 15 Champion!  In his first match of the day, McBride cruised to a straight sets victory over Ryan Talenti of Nassau Community College, 6-1, 6-2 in the semi-final.  Next, the 1st singles championship featured a rematch between McBride and Edward Demuth of Suffolk Community College who had previously defeated Joey in straights during both regular season matches earlier this season.  However, this time Joey was laser focused, on top of his game and battled Demuth, and the cold, cloudy, windy conditions to come out victorious by the score of 6-2, 3-6, 6-3   

As a result of this victory, Joey will represent Region 15 in the NJCAA DIII National Championship Tournament to take place in Peachtree City, GA May 12th  May 14th.  As a qualifying singles champion, FIT also automatically qualifies to compete in first doubles, so Simon Ho will also be representing FIT at the National Championship Tournament in both 1st doubles and 2nd singles.
