Freshman Lothian Scores Four Goals as FIT Women’s Soccer Splits Opening Weekend

SARANAC LAKE, N.Y. – Freshman Julia Lothian scored all four of FIT's goals as the Fashion Institute of Technology women's soccer team split a pair of matches during its season-opening trip to upstate New York.

The Tigers opened the 2026 campaign with a 3-1 victory over SUNY Adirondack on Saturday before falling to North Country Community College, 5-1, on Sunday.

FIT 3, SUNY Adirondack 1

Lothian made an immediate impact in her FIT debut, recording a hat trick to power the Tigers past SUNY Adirondack in Queensbury.

The freshman midfielder accounted for all three FIT goals as the Tigers began the season with an impressive road victory.

North Country 5, FIT 1

FIT returned to action the following afternoon against North Country in Saranac Lake. The Tigers were unable to carry their momentum into the second match, suffering their first loss of the season.

Lothian once again found the back of the net, scoring FIT's lone goal of the contest. The Los Angeles native concluded her first weekend as a Tiger with four goals across two matches.

FIT returns to action on Monday, September 21, when the Tigers visit Bergen Community College at 4 p.m. in Paramus, New Jersey.
