FIT Track & Field Turns in Strong Showing at Pratt Invitational

RESULTS

QUEENS, N.Y.
– The Fashion Institute of Technology women's track & field team put together a strong day of competition at the 2026 Pratt Institute Invitational on Saturday, highlighted by a national qualifier and multiple top finishes.

Sophomore Anika Selover delivered one of the top performances of the meet for FIT, placing third in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:26.00 to qualify for the 2026 NJCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

In the 3,000-meter run, Elsa Marigliano continued her steady distance work, finishing second overall after crossing the line in 12:07.60.

Taiwo Adekunle had a well-rounded day for the Tigers, posting a season-best time of 13.46 in the 100-meter dash to finish fifth in a deep field of 24 sprinters. She also placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 8.76 meters.

In the 800 meters, Mayuri Kumar added another solid performance, finishing fourth with a season-best time of 3:04.17.

FIT returns to the track next Saturday, April 25, for the Rick McCorkle Invitational.
