GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) Outdoor Track & Field team delivered a strong showing at the Oscar Moore Invitational, hosted by Rowan University, highlighted by multiple NJCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championship qualifying performances.
Leading the way was Taiwo Adekunle, who secured qualification in the women's 100-meter dash. Adekunle posted a time of 13.51 seconds in the preliminary round before finishing in 13.55 seconds in the finals—both marks surpassing the NJCAA qualifying standard of 13.66.
Mikayla Numkena turned in a standout meet with two national-qualifying performances. In the 800-meter run, Numkena placed fourth overall out of 15 competitors with a time of 2:38.42, beating the qualifying mark of 2:40.81. She followed that effort with a season-best performance in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking in at 1:14.20 to secure another spot at nationals.
FIT will look to build on this momentum as the Tigers return to action on Saturday, April 18, at the Pratt Institute Invitational.
