Tung Records 23 Saves as FIT Women's Soccer Falls to Suffolk

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Despite a strong effort in goal from sophomore Lydia Tung, the Fashion Institute of Technology women's soccer team fell to Suffolk County Community College, 6-0, on Sunday afternoon at Kingsborough Community College Soccer Field in NJCAA Region 15 action.

Tung delivered a busy afternoon between the posts, recording 23 saves across 90 minutes of action as the Tigers worked to contain Suffolk's offensive attack. The sophomore goalkeeper remained active throughout the contest, facing consistent pressure from the Sharks.

Suffolk established an early advantage, scoring three goals in the opening half before adding three more in the second period to secure the victory.

Offensively, the Tigers struggled to generate opportunities against Suffolk's defense, finishing with four shots. Freshman Julia Lothian and sophomore Kendall Fernaays accounted for FIT's offensive attempts, registering two shots apiece, with Fernaays placing one on goal.

For Suffolk, Madison Brown led the way with two goals and two assists, while Samantha Fuentes contributed two goals and an assist. Ana Onalan and Keira Maher each added a goal to round out the Sharks' scoring.

The setback moved FIT to 2-4 overall, coming one day after the Tigers' commanding 8-0 victory over Kingsborough Community College.
