Paramus, N.J. – The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) Women's Volleyball team opened its 2025 season in dramatic fashion on Thursday evening, battling to a 3–2 road victory over Bergen Community College. The Tigers claimed the match with set scores of 25-19, 18-25, 25-23, 28-30, 15-4.
The season opener showcased grit and resilience as the Tigers weathered Bergen's rallies and pushed the match to a decisive fifth set. FIT dominated the tiebreaker with a commanding 15-4 finish to secure the program's first win of the new campaign.
Freshman Ilona Iberle made an immediate impact in her collegiate debut, tallying nine kills while delivering timely blocks in key moments to help swing momentum in FIT's favor.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, September 6, when they host a doubleheader at FIT in New York, N.Y., facing The New School at 1:30 p.m. followed by Community College of Rhode Island at 3:00 p.m.
