FIT Women’s Volleyball Sweeps BMCC, Extends Winning Streak to Five

NEW YORK, N.Y. — The Fashion Institute of Technology women's volleyball team extended its winning streak to five matches with a 3-0 victory over Borough of Manhattan Community College on Thursday, September 24.

The Tigers controlled the match from the opening serve, winning the first two sets, 25-10 and 25-14. BMCC challenged FIT in the third, but the Tigers held firm for a 25-21 victory to complete the sweep.

Anya Lollos led the FIT attack with 13 kills, while Mia Myers added 11. Juun Shin directed the offense with 35 assists and contributed four kills.

Beatriz Vidal anchored the defensive effort with a match-high 20 digs while also recording three service aces. FIT finished the match with 41 kills, 74 digs and nine aces.

The victory improved the Tigers to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in Region XV competition.

FIT hosts Hostos Community College on Thursday, October 1, at 7 p.m. in New York City.
