FIT Women’s Volleyball Opens 2026 Season with Five-Set Win at Raritan Valley

BRANCHBURG, N.J. – The Fashion Institute of Technology women's volleyball team opened its 2026 season on a winning note, outlasting Raritan Valley Community College, 3-2, on Thursday evening.

FIT captured the opening two sets, 25-19 and 25-20, before Raritan Valley responded with victories of 25-14 and 25-19 to force a deciding fifth set. The Tigers regrouped and sealed the season-opening win with a 15-10 victory in the final frame.

Freshman outside hitter Anya Lollos led FIT's attack with 16 kills while adding 19 digs, two service aces and 1.5 blocks. Sophomore Mia Myers contributed nine kills, 19 digs and four aces, while sophomore Alisa Lombardo finished with six kills, 14 digs, three aces and two blocks.

Sophomore setter Juun Shin directed the offense with 28 assists and delivered a strong all-around performance with 23 digs, five aces, four kills and a team-high 2.5 blocks. Sophomore Beatriz Vidal anchored the back row with a team-best 33 digs.

As a team, FIT recorded 42 kills, 120 digs, 14 service aces and nine blocks. The victory also marked Centryll Scott's first win since being named head coach of the Tigers' women's volleyball program in June.

FIT returns to action on Thursday, September 10, when the Tigers visit Hostos Community College at 6 p.m. in Bronx, New York.
