Box Score POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The FIT Tigers Women's Volleyball team saw its 2025 title run come to an end on Saturday afternoon, falling in a hard-fought 3-2 match to Monroe–Bronx Community College in the semifinals of the NJCAA Region XV Women's Volleyball Championship at Dutchess Community College.
In a match that showcased two of the top teams in the region, FIT rallied from a two-set deficit to force a decisive fifth set before narrowly falling short. Monroe–Bronx took the opening sets 25-22 and 25-16, but the Tigers battled back with 29-27 and 25-23 victories in the third and fourth sets to even the match. In a tense fifth set, the Tigers came within reach of completing the comeback before Monroe–Bronx closed it out 15-12 to advance.
Beatriz Vidal and Mia Myers each posted double-doubles to lead the Tigers' attack—Vidal recording 16 kills and 16 digs, while Myers added 16 kills and 13 digs. Juun Shin guided the offense with 38 assists, and Gabrielle Buencochillo anchored the back line with 19 digs.
The semifinal loss caps a memorable season for FIT, marked by a top-15 national ranking, an undefeated regular season in Region XV play, and another deep postseason run.
