The Tigers competed in the NJCAA Region 15 Cross Country Championships held at Sunken Meadow Park in Long Island, NY
Highlighting the day was the women's team who took to the course for their 5k race with determination and grit, taking home the Region 15 Championship for the first time since 2017. The women's team was led by freshman
Olivia Corabi who impressed with a 2nd place overall finish out of a field of 98 runners with a time of 20:46.5.
Sofia Zampella finished in 9th with a time of 22:30.5, followed by
Clare DeSario,
Marla McCain,
Emily Chen and
Esther Babafemi to secure the championship for the Tigers. On the men's side
Jack Farrell,
Gurkan Yigit and
Mijael Gormes Pinchanski also gave a good showing and achieved seasons best performances.
Adding to the day's celebration was Head Coach
Howard Lindsay being named the 2024 NJCAA Region 15 Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year for his efforts with the team this season.
