Howard Lindsay

Head Field Coach, is in his first year of coaching at F.I.T.  After having competed in his first Olympic Games (1984), Mr. Lindsay was offered track and field scholarships by several US Universities. In 1985 he chose The University of Maryland Eastern Shore as the place he would pursue his college education. While at university, he enjoyed a stellar track and field career that included breaking the university’s indoor records in the LJ, 200m and 400m with his 400m record staying intact for 20 years. In 1986 he was ranked 7th in the 400M and 12th in the Long Jump by East Coast Track and Field Magazine. At the 1987 MEAC Indoor Championships he achieved the record for the athlete scoring the most individual points in the championship’s history and was voted MVP of the meet. In 1988 he set a new MEAC indoor long Jump record and was voted University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s Athlete of The Year. In 2004 he was inducted into The University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s Hall of Fame. Today Mr. Lindsay currently competes on the master’s level and has been either world or nationally ranked as a master’s athlete in various events every year since 2003. He has also added coaching to his repertoire having coached at both the High School and College levels.
