Tigers Clinch Top Playoff Birth with Win Over Kingsborough Community College

New York, New York - - The Fashion Institute of Technology has clinched the #3 seed in regional playoffs with an 8-0 win over Kingsborough Community College.  The Tigers in their last regular season game knew it would be a crucial win for them to secure their spot in the semifinals against Dutchess Community College. 

Sophomore Mara Herbert would lead the offense with five goals in the match.  Herbert would score three alone in the first half.  Freshmen Izabela Cunha would notch her first goal for the Tigers, while Katherine Amato and Hailey Tetreault also added their names to the scoring sheet.

First year Head Coach Julia Bazi has built up the Tigers program to close out the regular season with eight conference wins; the most in program history.  Last years 2017 team only had two wins on the season against Kingsborough Community College and BMCC. 

The #3 seed F.I.T. Tigers return back to action on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 7:00pm in their semi-final match against #2 seed Dutchess Community College. Game will be played at the Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie, New York.
