Tigers Sweep Bronx CC, Move to 2-1 in League
The Tigers travled to league opponents Bronx Community College on Thursday. Last time FIT faced Bronx CC, the Tigers won the match 3-0, and this match was no different. The Tigers' didn't let the home team's high energy and intensity get to them. The two teams were tied up for most of the first set until 13-13 when a kill from Freshman
Megan Kelly helped the Tigers gain momentum. From then on, Bronx CC was only able to score one more point, and the Tigers took the first set 25-14. FIT kept this energy and took it into the second set. Playing consistent and controlling their side, the Tigers jumped ahead immediately with a 6-1 lead. The Tigers took the second set 25-10. Again, FIT jumped ahead with a solid lead in the third set, playing strong and confident. Bronx CC was able to come back and tie up the score around mid-set. However, tough serves and well placed shots helped the Tigers take the third set 25-17. Freshman
Stephanie Berdon led the team in kills and assists with 9 and 19 respectively, while freshman
Jenna Butler led the team with 12 digs.Â
