On November 11
th the FIT swim team traveled to Long Island to compete in the USMMA Memorial Invite hosted by the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. The Tigers finished the meet with four all-time top-ten swims for the program.
Samantha Karasinski raced her way to two top-ten meet finishes in both the 100 (1:17.69) and 200 (2:48.51) breaststroke. These swims earned her the second fastest 100 breaststroke and third fastest 200 breaststroke times in school history.
Backstroker,
Margaret Murray swim the 10
th fastest 200 backstroke (2:35.84) for the program, finishing 13
th in the event.
Lauren Parisi swam the 7
th fastest 200 breaststroke (3:04.66) time in program history- less than 10 minutes after completing a 400IM where she placed 3
rd with a time of 5:52.49.
After a personal best time by almost a second, for the 2
nd meet in a row, sprinter
Alexandra Bullock almost secured the squad's 5
th top-ten time in the 50 freestyle (27.82) – missing the 10
th place FIT slot by merely .21 seconds. She was joined in the event by fellow teammates
Dana Scarazzini and
Tiana Roe in their first meet of the season (39.38 and 37.39, respectively).
