Wednesday, October 17th, FIT Tigers battled against Suffolk County Community College Sharks for their semi-final playoff game. The FIT Tigers came out quick and were able to hold possession for the beginning of the game. This allowed the Tigers to score their first goal in the first half.
Katherine Lillis connected with
Gabrielle L'Insalata who then laid it off to
Haley Tarazona, who scored. The second goal was from none other than L'Insalata again, after she got fouled in the box and was granted a PK. L'Insalata took the shot which was saved by Emily Deehan. However, L'Insalata was quick on her feet and attacked the rebound and put the ball in the back of the net. L'Insalata also scored our third goal from a perfect through ball from
Nabi Williams. After playing a physical and hard 90 minutes the final score was 3-0. The Tigers defensive line controlled the back giving up a minimal amount of shots. With this being said,
Eliza Clarke Burton, the Tiger's goalkeeper, came up big when she needed to, giving the Tigers a shut out for their first round of playoffs. The Tigers are now tenaciously preparing for their final playoff game which will take place on Saturday, October 20th at 1pm, against rival Nassau CC at Mitchel Field.
