(Middletown, NY) It was another exciting weekend of volleyball to be played at Orange College for the FIT Tigers. Coming off of an impressive home win against Ocean Community College, it felt as if nothing or no one could stand in their way.
The first opponent for the Tigers was the Sullivan Generals. From the beginning, FIT took the steering wheel. They had an aggressive offense and only let 10 points past them. They took the first set (25:10). The second set mimicked the first with consistent passes and communication. They continued their winning streak (25:12). By the third set, the Tigers felt they had the Generals figured out. Letting Sullivan come closer than were comfortable with, the Tigers were finally able to shut them down (25:18). They took their 3:0 record and looked on to their next victims, Orange Community College. Star standout for the match was
Jenna Dickey recording 8 kills and 4 laser serves.
FIT was determined not to let Orange Community College have the home court advantage. They fought tooth and nail, but the Tigers fumbled a serve receive which gave Orange the lead. The determined Tigers, looked doubt in the eye and with a few key digs, they came back to  win (25:19). In the second set, OCC was serving up some serious heat. But the Tigers kept their cool, and touched out a (25:21) win. Closing on the third set, the Tigers were done messing around. They tightened up their defense and laid the Orange Colts to rest scoring (25:13). Darina Reylea lead in kills racking up 11, with no errors.
Taj Cutting followed posting 6 kills and no errors.
Stephanie Perpepaj brought an amazing energy to the court and the rest of her teammates in this match. She recorded 5 digs, while Hannah Edwards tallied 8.Â
The Tigers finished their weekend record 6-0, totaling 21-8 for the season. FIT will face NYC rival Borough of Manhattan Community College on Thursday. Don't miss out! This is the second home game, and we are trying to pack the place. Come ready to bring down the house!Â
