(Brentwood, NY) The Tigers traveled to Suffolk County today for what was certainly expected to be a tough match. The intensity was high as both teams left it all out on the field in front of a sizable turnout. FIT opened the scoring with an impressive free kick goal by defender Rosie Witherell in the 30th minute of the first half. Suffolk County Community College responded with 2 goals of their own to end the half in their favor. A physical and hard-fought 45 minutes ensued. With the Tigers pushed back on the defensive, goalie Hannah Duncan came up big with 11 saves in the second half. In the end it was SCC that prevailed with a final score of 5-2.

"SCC found the goal much more than we did today.We have a lot of work to do before our next match, but we are satisfied with the level of intensity that the girls played with today." Assistant Coach Brianna Marquit.

It is only a few days before the Tigers next match as they face Borough of Manhattan Community College on Thursday at the nearby Pier 40 field. The Tigers are sure to be eager for redemption.
