Braily Bernaber joins the Fashion Institute of Technology as Assistant Director of Athletics and Recreation, bringing extensive experience in collegiate fitness, recreation, wellness programming, staff development and facility operations.
Prior to joining FIT, Bernaber served as Fitness and Wellness Coordinator for Instructional Programming at Rutgers University, where he oversaw personal training and instructional fitness programs, recruited and supervised staff, managed program operations and supported wellness initiatives for the campus community. He also held leadership experience as Coordinator of Campus Recreation at LaGuardia Community College, directing recreation center operations and developing fitness programs for students, faculty, staff and community members.
In addition to his administrative work, Bernaber has served as an adjunct professor at Rutgers University and Manhattan University, teaching courses in aerobic fitness and stress management. He earned both a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Manhattan University. Bernaber is an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer, a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach and a certified CPR/AED instructor. He is also bilingual in English and Spanish.
