Biography

Ian was born and raised in the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York.  There was no pool or swim team where he lived but he often swam open-water with his mother and once swam from Vermont to New York across Lake Champlain.  In high school Ian was the vice president of the National Honors Society and played the flute in his high school’s band.
