Biography

Madison Donaldson, originally from Binghamton, NY, is thrilled to be in FIT’s Dance Company. She began studying ballet at Rafael Grigorian’s School of Ballet under Caroline Wallace and Grigorian himself. There she had a plethora of dance opportunities including soloist roles in Rafael Grigorian’s Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Raymonda, La Bayadère, Le Corsaire, and title roles in The Nutcracker and Baba Yaga.  At 16, Madison continued her training at the Atlanta Ballet in their Conservatory program. There, she studied intensely with Martha Goodman, Orlando Molina and expanded her knowledge in modern and contemporary dance with Sarah Hilmer, Tracy Vogt and Lonnie Davis. Under the school division, she had the privilege of being Autumn Fairy in Ben Stevenson’s Cinderella and starred in Sarah Hilmer’s Thank You For which was presented at the Southeastern Regional Ballet Association. With the company, she performed in Bruce Wells’ Pinocchio, was a cours de ballet member in John McFall’s Nutcracker, and was honored to be a Step Sister in Donald Mahler’s Cinderella.  Madison spent her summers extending her dance horizons training with American Ballet Theatre, Princeton Dance Theatre (under the direction of Susan Jaffe), Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, and BalletX. Madison credits her mother and the multitude of teachers in helping guide and shape the dancer she is today. She looks forward to being a part of FIT’s Dance Company and can’t wait to learn from her new colleagues.
