FIT Announces Addition of Men’s Volleyball Beginning in 2026–27

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) has announced the addition of men's volleyball as an intercollegiate sport, with competition set to begin during the 2026–27 academic year (Spring 2027).

The addition reflects FIT's continued commitment to expanding athletic opportunities and enhancing the student-athlete experience.m FIT joins fellow Region XV institutions including BMCC, Hostos, Kingsborough, Nassau Community College, and Monroe University (Bronx and New Rochelle campuses) in sponsoring men's volleyball.

"Men's volleyball is a fast-paced, high-energy sport that continues to grow in popularity nationwide," said Keith Heron, Director of Athletics and Recreation. "We are excited to bring that momentum to FIT and provide our students with another opportunity to compete, demonstrate sportsmanship, and represent our institution with pride—both on and off the court."

A national search is underway for the program's coaching staff, including Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
