KINGS PARK, N.Y. – The FIT Tigers Women's Cross Country team claimed the 2025 NJCAA Region XV Women's Cross Country Championship on Saturday morning at Sunken Meadow State Park, securing the program's second consecutive regional title.
The Tigers delivered a strong collective effort, placing all five scoring runners among the top 35 finishers to clinch the championship.
Leading the way for FIT was Mikayla Numkena, who finished third overall with a time of 21:22, followed by Olivia Corabi in ninth place (21:46). Also contributing key points for the Tigers were Elsa Marigliano in 15th (22:01), Anika Selover in 18th (22:15), and Sofia Zampella in 35th (24:34).
In recognition of the team's back-to-back championship performance, Head Coach Howard Lindsay was named the Region XV Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year for the second straight season.
The victory caps another outstanding season for FIT, as the Tigers continue to establish themselves among the NJCAA's premier cross country programs.
