Tigers place second at CCRI InvitationalĀ
The FIT Tigers traveled to Rhode Island this past weekend to compete in the CCRI Invitational. The Tigers faced the the hosts first in a well fought match to five. FIT took the first two sets 25-20 and 25-18 but lost the next two 11-25 and 24-26. A few rotational errors caused the Tigers to lose the momentum they had in the first two sets. However, they were able to come back and win the fifth set 15-12. FIT won the match 3-2.

In their second match, the Tigers faced Massbay. Tough serving helped the Tigers keep a solid lead throughout all three sets. FIT swept Massbay and won the match 3-0 (25-7, 25-7, 25-7).

FIT Tigers moved on to the semifinals to play NECC. Again, the Tigers came out with a lot of energy and tough serves. With both a strong offense and solid defense, FIT didn't give NECC many opportunities to take the lead. The Tigers swept NECC 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 26-24).Ā

In their last matchup and championship game, the Tigers faced league opponents Nassau CC. Tired from their three previous matches, the Tigers had a slow start, and lost the first set 14-25. They were able to come back in the second set and win 25-19, but later lost the third and fourth sets 13-25 each set.Ā
