(New York, NY) Today was an important day for the Tigers. It was the senior game, making it the last game of not only of the season, but the last game of the seniors' collegiate soccer career. Friends and Family all showed up to watch the girls play their last game of the season.
The ladies took the field ready to go scoring the first goal in 2:37!!
Emily Sheehan was able to feed a ball through to midfielder
Stephanie Dootz who was able to find the back of the net with a great shot. Two minutes later,
Karina Demirciyan was able to capitalize on another opportunity, assisted by
Kesha Gorajia, and with an assist by
Kirsten Henning to midfielder Monica Guerrera who was also able to find the back of the net, the score was 3-0 within the first 6 minutes! Henning also had her own goal later on, in fact, along with Dootz, both girls scored 5 goals each. However, that was throughout the whole game, and at half time the score was 8-0.
In the second half, the Tigers continued to conquer the field, scoring another 6 goals. Sheehan also had her own goal later in the second half, on a corner kick assisted by
Lauren Fremgen. Our defense stayed tough throughout the game and goalie
Samantha Berger kept the game as a shutout and the girls came out with a huge victory of 14-0 over Kingsborough CC.
After the game, there was a short ceremony for the senior girls.
Rosie Witherell,
Lauren Fremgen,
Karina Demirciyan,
Stephanie Dootz, and
Kesha Gorajia each received flowers and were able to celebrate with their friends and family, not only a great win but also a long soccer career.
The tigers will be going to playoffs and their first playoff game will be Wednesday at 3pm verse Nassau at Nassau's home field.
