Tigers Keep up the Offense

9-0 Over Kingsborough

(Kingsborough, NY) This past weekend the FIT tigers took on their second opponents of the season, Kingsborough Community College. They walked away with another win finishing the game 9-0. The team is really coming together and playing like they have been together for years.
The women came out strong; Katelyn Barreiros scored her first goal of the season to give the team their first goal of the game only twelve minutes in. The tigers passed and moved the ball well throughout the game and held their own. With a total of nine goals FIT achieved their second win. Goals were scored by five different players: Carrie Godas (1), Katelyn Snow (4), Hannah Rodriguez (2), and Kiley Murphy (1).  Additionally, 7 different women assisted the goals. The tigers back line worked well together and hardly let a ball past the half line.
After Saturdays win, Katelyn Snow is currently tied for 18thin the country for goals while Mary Snyder is 14thfor assists and Mariangela Filippone is tied for 1stin saves% and goals against. "It's great to see the girls grow more and more every game, and I hope we continue to progress. It says a lot about a team when you don't just have 1 goal scorer or 1 person feeding the offense.  Currently the team is playing as a team and scoring as a team… and I couldn't be happier" stated head Coach Bevivino. With high hopes and great work so far, the FIT Tigers seem to have a bright future ahead of them.

The Tigers next game is Sunday at Kingsborough CC facing off against the Suffolk Sharks.
