Prior to coming to FIT as the newly appointed athletic director in 2016, Keith Heron worked as an assistant athletic director, academic advisor and instructor at Kingsborough CC for ten years. His main functions in KCC’s Athletic Department were compliance, team management and overseeing academic success in the student-athlete population.
During his time working at KCC, Keith also spent his nights and weekends fulfilling his passion for sports as an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Molloy College. During his time at Molloy, he helped the team reach the playoffs in each of his four seasons there. He also worked for two seasons as a youth basketball coach for the Long Island Lightning basketball program located in West Hempstead, NY where he helped his teams learn fundamentals.
Keith has degrees from Nassau Community College (AA in Liberal Arts), Queens College (BA in Psychology) and CW Post (MS Ed in School Counseling).
